Twente player Daan Rots remains optimistic ahead of the UEFA Conference League playoff second leg against Qarabag.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Dutch footballer reflected on his side's 1-0 defeat in the first leg in an interview with ESPN.
Rots believes Twente still have every chance of turning the tie around in the return match.
"I think there is some disappointment now. But we also said in the dressing room that it is only 1-0. We have to go into next week's game with our heads held high," he said.
The winger stressed that Twente managed to put Qarabag under considerable pressure, particularly after the break.
"I think we spent a large part of the second half in their half. Although everything did not always go the way we wanted, we showed enough that we can dominate the game and create chances."
Rots also pointed to the fine margins that decided the first meeting, expressing confidence that Twente can be more clinical in Baku.
"They scored, but we also had about three shots from roughly the same distance. They scored and we didn't. I think it is definitely possible," he added.
The second leg between Qarabag and Twente will take place in Baku on August 27.
