Qarabag midfielder Kady Borges has set a new record in European competition.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Professional Football League, the Brazilian has become the all-time leading scorer for Azerbaijani clubs in the UEFA Conference League.
Kady achieved the milestone by scoring his sixth goal in the competition. He netted the winner in Qarabag's 1-0 away victory over Twente in the first leg of the playoff round in the Netherlands.
The midfielder has now scored six goals in 17 Conference League appearances for Qarabag.
His previous five goals came during the 2021/22 campaign. Kady scored against Cyprus' AEL in the third qualifying round and Scotland's Aberdeen in the playoffs, netted twice against Omonia in the group stage and also found the target against Marseille in the knockout round playoffs.
Before Kady's latest goal, the record was shared by three players with five goals each. In addition to Kady, Joy-Lance Mickels reached the mark for Sabah, while Raphael Utzig scored five Conference League goals while representing Gabala and Zira.
Kady has also increased his overall tally for Qarabag in UEFA club competitions to 11 goals.
