Former England footballer David Beckham has surprised his wife Victoria with a romantic trip to Portofino, Italy.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Beckham shared details of the trip on social media.
The former Manchester United midfielder organised the getaway for his wife, taking her back to a place with special significance for the couple.
Portofino was where David and Victoria first holidayed together in 1997, before they had publicly confirmed their relationship. The couple shared photos from their latest visit, posing against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.
"Twenty-nine years ago, we came to Portofino and stayed at this hotel when nobody yet knew that we were in a relationship. And now we are back here again," Beckham wrote.
David and Victoria Beckham began dating in 1997 and married in July 1999. Over the years, they have become one of the most recognisable couples in British sport and entertainment.
