Manuel Neuer addresses retirement plans

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has spoken about his future following his team's 3-1 friendly victory over RB Leipzig.

As reported by İdman.Biz, Goal.com quoted the experienced goalkeeper as saying that he currently feels good and remains focused on competing at the highest level.

"First of all, I have to say that I feel good. You have to take every friendly seriously, regardless of who you are playing against. We also played Aston Villa in Asia and, just like now, produced a very confident performance. Of course, there were a lot of substitutions. The coach tried to give the players playing time and distribute the workload a little. We deserved the win and played well," Neuer said.

Asked about the possibility of retiring next summer, the German goalkeeper stressed that he has not yet made a final decision.

"Retiring next summer? I will let things take their course and then see what happens. I will go into the season with the aim of competing for the biggest objectives. After that, we will see what happens," Neuer added.

Neuer's contract with Bayern runs until June 30, 2027. The veteran goalkeeper made 37 appearances across all competitions last season, conceding 40 goals and keeping 10 clean sheets.
