Manchester United are considering a move for Benfica defender Samuel Dahl as part of their plans to strengthen the back line this summer, İdman.Biz reports.
According to Metro, United scouts have tracked the 23-year-old Swede across dozens of matches, closely assessing his development and consistency. The club is now exploring the possibility of a transfer during the upcoming window as it looks to reinforce a defence that has faced scrutiny in recent seasons.
Dahl’s rise in Lisbon has not gone unnoticed, particularly by head coach José Mourinho, who has publicly praised the defender’s performances.
“He has been magnificent and has made great progress since I arrived. He plays every minute of every match. He is very reliable in defence and consistent in attack. A top-level player,” Mourinho said.
With his current contract running until June 2029, Benfica are under no immediate pressure to sell, which could complicate negotiations. However, United’s long-term interest suggests Dahl has emerged as a serious option as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new season.
