Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has commented on the squad situation following injuries to defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, who were both forced to leave the pitch during the Premier League matchday 20 clash against Chelsea, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
According to Idman.Biz, citing ESPN, Guardiola openly expressed his concern over the lack of available players. “Did you notice our bench in the last game? There were four academy players, and that number could increase soon. We simply do not have enough players. There are too many injuries. John Stones has been out for several months. Now Ruben is out, as well as Josko. Nathan Ake cannot play consistently. This is our reality. We have to be patient and find a way out of the situation. We have team spirit, and that will not disappear,” the coach said.
After 20 rounds, Manchester City sit second in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Arsenal. In matchday 21, City will host Brighton.
