Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick could make a return to the club as head coach.
According to Idman.Biz, citing journalist Pete Hall, the 44-year-old English specialist is among the main candidates for the role of interim manager at Manchester United following the unexpected dismissal of Ruben Amorim. Carrick could take charge of the team until the end of the current season, with talks between the parties expected to take place in the coming days.
Michael Carrick previously worked as Manchester United’s interim head coach from November to December 2021. He later managed Middlesbrough, where he remained in charge until his dismissal in June 2025.
