Real Madrid have begun analyzing potential candidates for the head coach position amid an unstable situation surrounding Xabi Alonso.
The club’s management does not rule out changes as early as January if the team’s results fail to improve. Among the coaches admired by club president Florentino Perez are Mikel Arteta and Unai Emery, - reports Idman.Biz.
Both managers are highly regarded at Real Madrid due to their successful work in the English Premier League. Arteta has guided Arsenal to consistent performances, while Emery has led Aston Villa into the group of league leaders. In Madrid, it is also remembered that Arteta’s team eliminated Real Madrid from the UEFA Champions League last season.
However, sources note that despite this admiration, neither Arteta nor Emery is considered a realistic candidate at this stage. The club reportedly doubts whether both coaches would be able to smoothly adapt their methods to the specific demands of Real Madrid and manage the dressing room effectively.
The outlet adds that the example of Xabi Alonso himself, who has found it difficult to implement his style in Madrid after a successful spell at Bayer, has only increased the club’s caution. As a result, any decision regarding a possible successor will be carefully weighed.
