Barcelona (Guayaquil) forward Felipe Caicedo has said he may end his playing career following the tragedy involving his club, where his teammate Mario Pineida was killed, Idman.Biz reports.
"Most likely, I will end my career. Mario’s death shocked me. I no longer want to know anything about football.
I joined this club following my heart. If I had thought with my head, I would not have done so," Caicedo said in an interview with AS.
It should be recalled that Barcelona (Guayaquil) defender Mario Pineida was killed in an armed attack in Guayaquil. According to local media, the incident took place in one of the city’s districts. A woman who was with the footballer was also killed in the attack, while his mother sustained injuries.
It is reported that Ecuadorian police have detained suspects in the case, who have been placed in custody.
