Mohamed Salah’s Christmas message sparks debate among fans

After Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah posted a Christmas greeting on social media, the message triggered a wide reaction among fans, Idman.Biz reports. Some users claimed that Muslims should not celebrate Christian holidays and accused the footballer of showing disrespect toward his faith.

Among the comments were the following:

"Salah, as a Manchester City fan, I respected you. You were a role model for me. Even though you never played for City, you inspired me. But after this, I can no longer consider you my idol. You broke my heart."

"You are a Muslim and must respect your religion and culture, and also take responsibility for what you show to millions of people."

"Brother, fear Allah. You are a Muslim and millions are watching you. People love you, most of them young Muslims, and they may think your actions are normal and harmless. But this is a great sin and something that does not belong to Muslims."

At the same time, Salah received a large amount of support from both Muslims and representatives of other religions. Fans highlighted the humanitarian nature of his action, called the greeting a gesture of respect, and urged tolerance in matters of interfaith dialogue.

It should be noted that Salah has repeatedly emphasized the importance of dialogue between religions and regularly supports charitable initiatives aimed at promoting mutual understanding.
