Former Ecuador national team and Manchester City footballer Felipe Caicedo has announced his retirement from professional football.
According to Idman.Biz, the 37-year-old striker, who is currently playing for Ecuadorian club Barcelona, made the decision following the death of his teammate Mario Alberto Pineida, who became the victim of an armed attack on December 17.
It should be recalled that during his career Caicedo played for a number of well-known European clubs, including Italian sides Inter and Lazio. The Ecuadorian forward was a key figure in the national team for many years and left a significant mark on European football.
