Neftchi head coach Yuri Vernydub has become the fourth foreign specialist to make his debut in the current Misli Azerbaijan Premier League season.
According to Idman.Biz, the Ukrainian coach led Neftchi in their Matchday 15 home game against Sumgayit, which ended in a 2:2 draw.
Earlier this season, Sasa Ilic (Sumgayit) and Jorge Kashkilya (Imishli) made their debuts in the opening round, while Valdas Dambrauskas (Sabah) debuted in the second round.
As a result, the total number of foreign specialists who have worked as head coaches or acting head coaches in the history of the Misli Premier League has reached 69. Yuri Vernydub is the 10th Ukrainian coach in the history of the competition.
He is also the 33rd specialist to lead Neftchi in Azerbaijan championship matches. Vernydub became the ninth foreign coach and the third Ukrainian manager in the history of the black-and-whites.
