American rapper Snoop Dogg has been appointed the first-ever honorary coach of the United States national team. The announcement was made by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), Idman.Biz reports.
The USOPC clarified that the position is a volunteer role designed to support and motivate Team USA athletes outside the competition arena. Snoop Dogg, who was also referred to as “Coach Snoop” in the statement, will join the “Team Behind the Team” initiative, which brings together specialists and staff who help athletes on their journey to the Games.
The appointment is linked to preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina. It is noted that Snoop Dogg will help raise awareness of athlete support programs and the Team USA Fund, as well as take part in community and charitable initiatives.
Previously, Snoop Dogg actively supported Team USA during the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. In addition, the USOPC highlighted his long-standing involvement in youth sports projects, including the Snoop Youth Football League.
