Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema has not ruled out a possible return to the France national team to take part in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Idman.Biz reports.
The footballer stressed that he is always ready to respond to a call-up and sees participation in the World Cup as a special source of motivation. According to Benzema, he still loves football, strives for victories and trophies, which remain his main priority.
“Everyone wants to play in this tournament. When I am called up, I come and play. I have goals. I love football and I love winning. I love trophies. That is the most important thing for me. If I am called up to the national team, I come to play football. That’s it”, Benzema said in an interview with L’Equipe.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first in the tournament’s history to feature 48 national teams. The competition will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
