U.S. President Donald Trump will be awarded the FIFA Peace Award prior to the official group stage draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Idman.Biz citing The Athletic, Trump will be given time to speak during the event, which is taking place today, December 5.
The FIFA Peace Award was established in November 2025, and Trump will become its first recipient.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For the first time in history, the tournament will feature 48 national teams.
The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The defending champions are Argentina, who defeated France in the 2022 final. The match ended 3-3 after regular time, with the South Americans winning in the penalty shootout.
