Neftchi and Cameroon national team striker Vincent Aboubakar has revealed how he decided to join the club and the factors that influenced his choice.
Idman.Biz reports that the player shared these details in an interview with Turkish commentator Ertem Sener.
Speaking about his transfer to Neftchi, Aboubakar said he consulted not only the club management but also Turkey national team defender Caglar Soyuncu:
“Before joining Neftchi, I spoke with both the club’s CEO Cenk Sumer and Caglar Soyuncu. They shared very positive opinions about the team and told me it is a big club. Besides, I already knew Cenk Sumer from his time at Besiktas, which made my decision even easier.”
The star striker also shared his views on the level of the Azerbaijan Premier League:
“Talking about the Azerbaijan Premier League, from the outside it may sometimes seem easy, but in reality, it’s quite challenging. Azerbaijan is a beautiful country, and people here have great respect for football. Based on what I’ve seen since joining the club, everything is highly organized, and the corporate structure has developed even further.”
