Belarusian defender reflects on his football years in Azerbaijan

Belarusian defender Yegor Khvalko, who previously played for Azerbaijan’s "Kapaz" club, has shared his impressions of his football career in the country.

According to Idman.biz, Khvalko said that his years in Azerbaijan left him with positive memories of both the country and the club.

“I felt good in Azerbaijan. Baku is a European city with a unique atmosphere and rhythm. People there are very kind, and it was comfortable to be in that environment,” Betnews.by quoted the player as saying.

He added that the psychological pressure in Azerbaijan was greater due to "Kapaz"’s struggle for survival, but this ultimately gave him valuable experience that would help him later.

Talking about football infrastructure, Khvalko emphasized that Azerbaijan has made significant progress:

“In Azerbaijan, including in Ganja where I played, several new stadiums have been built. We had excellent facilities with two natural grass pitches. Many clubs have good training bases. However, some stadiums, especially those with artificial turf, need renovation. The weather conditions allow the championship to be played entirely on natural pitches.”

Khvalko spent three seasons in Azerbaijan and noted that this period helped him mature as a player and adapt to different football conditions.
