Spanish La Liga club Real Betis has extended the contract of head coach Manuel Pellegrini.
According to Idman.Biz, citing AS, the parties reached an agreement after several difficult matches, and the club officially announced the new deal ahead of the derby. Pellegrini’s previous contract, which was set to expire in June 2026, has been extended for an additional year, keeping him at the club until 2027.
The contract includes a special clause allowing Pellegrini to leave if offered the role of Chile’s national team coach. The experienced manager has repeatedly expressed his desire to finish his career leading his country’s national team.
Pellegrini has managed Betis since 2020, leading the club to consecutive European competition qualifications and winning the Copa del Rey.
Betis will face Sevilla in their next match on November 30. After 13 rounds, the team sits 5th in the league table with 21 points.
