Footage circulating on social media shows Flamengo fans boarding the team’s bus as it departed for the Libertadores Cup final, sparking widespread attention.
Idman.Biz reports that some supporters entered the bus through roof hatches. Onboard, fans hugged players, took selfies, and in some cases, reportedly removed players’ jerseys. During the commotion, midfielder Jorginho was seen sitting shirtless on the bus.
Several thousand fans participated in sending off the team on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian media also reported that the club had previously petitioned the UN to recognize Flamengo and its supporters as a distinct “people.”
