Former Denmark coach diagnosed with brain cancer

Former Denmark national team coach Age Hareide has been diagnosed with brain cancer, .

Idman.Biz, citing NRK, reports that Hareide has completed a six-week course of radiation therapy and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

As a player, he represented Norwegian clubs Hodd and Molde, as well as English sides Norwich City and Manchester City. He began his coaching career in 1985 at Molde, leading the team to a Norwegian Cup victory in 1994. Hareide later managed Swedish clubs Helsingborg and Malmo, Norwegian sides Rosenborg and Viking, and Danish team Brøndby. Over the years, he also led the national teams of Norway, Denmark, and Iceland, the latter being his final coaching position. He retired from coaching in 2024.
