The opening ceremony of the IV mini-football tournament among state institutions, dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev, was held.
Idman.Biz reports that the event at the Baku Tennis Academy was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, officials from AFFA and the Azerbaijan Mini-Football Federation (AMF), as well as representatives of various state institutions.
First, the participating teams were called onto the field. The National Anthem was played, and the memory of Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs was honored with a minute of silence.
Farid Gayibov greeted the participants and noted that the tournament was being held for the fourth time: “We already have three past winners. We also send them to international tournaments. This event is organized at a high level. An exciting competition awaits us. I thank all our supporters and partners.”
AMF Executive Vice-President Taleh Nasibov wished the participants success: “We are pleased that the tournament is held regularly. This year, we won the World Championship in mini-football held in Baku. This shows the development of mini-football in our country. State institutions pay special attention to this traditional tournament.”
After the artistic part of the opening ceremony, the first match of the tournament began.
It should be noted that the competition will conclude in May 2026.
