Oscar, currently playing for Brazil’s Sao Paulo and formerly a midfielder for Chelsea and the Brazilian national team, has been hospitalized due to a heart issue.
According to Idman.Biz, the 34-year-old felt unwell during preseason medical tests and received immediate first aid from doctors at Sao Paulo’s training base.
“Changes related to Oscar’s heart were observed. He was immediately examined by the club’s doctors and the medical team present at the scene. Afterwards, he was taken to a hospital and is now in stable condition. He remains under observation for a precise diagnosis,” the club stated.
Brazilian media, including Globo, reported that Oscar lost consciousness while using a stationary bike during the test and remained unconscious for about two minutes.
Sources indicate that the player is also considering the possibility of ending his career. He returned to Sao Paulo in December 2024 after an eight-year stint in China and signed a three-year contract through 2027. The team is currently coached by Argentine former striker and ex-Chelsea player Hernan Crespo.
