Neftchi forward Vincent Aboubakar has become the only debutant in the last six seasons of the Azerbaijani Championship to score in his first two matches.
Idman.Biz reports, citing the Professional Football League’s press service, that the Cameroonian striker achieved this milestone in the 10th-round match against Kapaz.
Aboubakar scored in consecutive appearances, netting once in the 9th-round 2-0 win over Gabala and again in the 10th-round 5-1 victory against Kapaz.
The last player to achieve this in the league’s history did so in the 2019/2020 season. After joining Gabala, Nicolas Riesel scored in his first two matches, netting against Sabah and Sabail, similarly recording a goal in his debut and the following game in the starting lineup.
