French police detained four individuals suspected of involvement in the Louvre robbery while they were attending the Ligue 1 Round 10 match between “Paris” and “Lyon” (3:3) at the “Jean-Bouin” stadium.
According to Idman.Biz, citing FranceInfo, the operation took place around 8:30 p.m. local time and was carried out by the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry (BRB).
The arrests mark a new phase in the investigation of the October 19 theft, during which jewelry worth approximately €88 million was stolen from the museum. The stolen items have not yet been recovered. Two other suspected participants who were allegedly present at the crime scene had been arrested earlier.
The Paris prosecutor’s office stated that more than 100 investigators are involved in the case, which covers both the preparatory activities and the execution of the criminal operation.
