Sabah forward Joy-Lance Mickels in the interview to sport24.az admitted that his team did not perform at their best in the Misli Premier League Round IX match against Araz-Nakhchivan, which ended in a 2:2 draw.
“We had many scoring opportunities during the game but failed to capitalize on them. Instead, in the final minutes, we made a simple mistake during a corner kick and lost two important points. In my opinion, it was a match we should have won,” said the 31-year-old striker.
Mickels also commented on the referee’s decisions: “The penalty awarded by the referee in the last minutes was unusual. Now we must forget this match and focus on our upcoming game. I believe we can secure three points against Gabala.”
