“Our expectations from Qarabag are big,” said Vagif Sadygov, chairman of the AFFA Coaching Committee, in an interview with Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts ahead of today’s UEFA Champions League League Stage match between Athletic (Spain) and Qarabag:
“We believe the series of firsts will continue in Bilbao as well. Qarabag’s successful start in the tournament makes other European clubs approach their matches against us more cautiously. I think every opponent aims to beat our representative, but our champions always find a way out of difficult situations and do everything to make the fans proud.”
Sadygov emphasized that today’s match will be a tough challenge:
“We’ll face a completely different football school. Spanish football dominates in Europe, and it will be interesting to watch Qarabag play against such a rival. I believe the team will once again show full strength and determination, just like in previous matches. If Qarabag stays true to its playing style, it will deliver one of its best performances.”
The Athletic – Qarabag match will kick off at 20:45 (Baku time) at San Mames Stadium.
