The contract details of Neftchi’s new signing Vincent Aboubakar have been finalized.
Idman.Biz, citing futbolinfo.az, reports that the 33-year-old striker will sign a 1+1 year deal with the “Neftchi”.
Currently in Baku, the Cameroon national team player will officially join the club after passing a medical examination. Aboubakar’s performance this season will determine whether he stays; if his displays are impressive, the contract will automatically extend for an additional year next summer.
Aboubakar is expected to become the highest-paid footballer in Azerbaijan. While the exact figure hasn’t been disclosed, it is believed he will earn no less than €1 million.
Aboubakar left his previous club, Hatayspor, in May of this year and joined Neftchi as a free agent. Due to the recent period without matches, his physical condition is not yet fully optimal.
