French forward Kylian Mbappe became the hero of Real Madrid’s ninth-round La Liga match, securing a narrow 1–0 away victory over Getafe and etching his name into the club’s history books, Idman.Biz reports via Opta Sport.
The only goal of the match came in the 80th minute, when Mbappe found the net following an assist from Arda Guler. This strike marked his 10th goal of the current La Liga season, in addition to two assists.
With this performance, Mbappe became the first Real Madrid player since the 2014/15 season to score 10 or more goals in the opening nine rounds of La Liga. The last player to achieve this feat was Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 17 goals during that span.
Mbappe joined Real Madrid last summer as a free agent.
