Cameroon national team striker Vincent Aboubakar will not be joining Azerbaijani club Neftchi.
Idman.Biz, citing Sport24.az, reports that the 33-year-old forward’s high wage demands prevented the transfer from going through. As a result, negotiations between the parties have been halted.
Neftchi had been in talks with Aboubakar since last month.
Aboubakar, who previously played for Porto, Besiktas, Lorient, and Al-Nassr, most recently played for Hatayspor in Turkiye. Last season, he appeared in 25 Turkish Super Lig matches, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
