Midfielder Samuel Asamoah of Guangxi Pingguo, a club competing in China’s second division, has suffered a severe neck injury after hitting his head against an advertising board during a match.
Idman.Biz, citing the club’s official statement, reports that the 31-year-old player joined Guangxi Pingguo in February 2025. The club announced that Asamoah is likely to remain permanently disabled as a result of the incident.
“A detailed medical examination conducted by the hospital’s medical team diagnosed Samuel Asamoah with dislocation and fractures of the cervical vertebrae, as well as a spinal blockage. He faces the risk of paraplegia and will miss the rest of the season,” the club’s statement said.
