FIFA has made changes to the international match calendar for men’s national teams for 2026–2030.
Idman.biz, citing The Athletic, reports that the adjustments consolidate the breaks in domestic leagues that occur due to national team games in September and October.
Instead of two separate breaks, there will now be a single international window lasting from late September to early October. During this period, national teams can play up to four matches.
As a result, domestic leagues, including the Azerbaijani league, will have a roughly three-week pause starting from September 21.
Currently, there are two separate international breaks in September and October. The first starts in the first full week of September, and the second begins in the second full week of October. During these breaks, each national team can play a maximum of two matches.
