A scandal occurred during the 11th round match of the Russian Premier League between Krasnodar and Akhmat Grozny, Idman.biz reports.
Krasnodar captain and Armenian national team member Eduard Spertsyan allegedly racially insulted Akhmat’s Senegalese player Ousmane N’Dong.
Following the incident, the 26-year-old defender struck N’Dong and was shown a red card.
After the match, Spertsyan denied insulting N’Dong and rejected the allegations.
Due to the act of racism, the Russian Football Federation is expected to impose a 10-game suspension on the 25-year-old midfielder.
The match ended with a 2:0 victory for Krasnodar.
