Within the framework of the “Chess Tour Azerbaijan,” initiated by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, the “Ganja Open 2025” International Chess Festival will be held.
The festival will take place in Ganja, the country’s second-largest city, Idman.biz reports.
The chess festival will feature a total prize fund of 41,200 AZN (24,235 USD) and will be held in Groups A and B. Rapid and blitz tournaments are also planned as part of the festival.
Group A is open to players with a rating of 2000 and above, while Group B is for players with a rating up to 1999. There are no rating restrictions for the rapid and blitz tournaments.
The Ganja Open is the seventh open-type tournament in the “Chess Tour Azerbaijan” series. After the “Baku Open,” this festival will have the largest prize fund.
