The Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation has approved the national teams for the upcoming European Chess Championship, which will be held in Batumi, Georgia.
According to Idman.biz, the men's national team of Azerbaijan will include Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Mahammad Muradli, Aydin Suleymanli, and Eltaj Safarli. The team captain will be Teimour Radjabov.
The women’s national team will consist of Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beydullayeva, Gulnar Mammadova, Khanim Balajayeva, and Ayan Allahverdiyeva. Ilaha Kadimova has been appointed captain, and Nijat Abasov will serve as the team coach.
The board order for the players will be announced shortly before the tournament.
The European Championship will kick off on October 5.
