Azerbaijani grandmaster takes fifth place at International Whitsun Open

Eltaj Safarli has secured 5th place at the International Whitsun Open held in Munich, Germany.

The Azerbaijani chess player drew with Bulgaria’s Momchil Petkov in the fifth round, bringing his total to 4 points, Idman.biz reports.

Norway’s Elham Amar currently leads the tournament with 5 points. A total of 152 players are competing in the event.
