Two of Azerbaijan’s chess players opened the Dubai Open 2025 with victories as the prestigious tournament got underway today in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Idman.biz, Mahammad Muradli and Shiroglan Talibov both secured wins in the first round of the competition.
Meanwhile, Govhar Beydullayeva and Khanim Balajayeva suffered defeats in their opening matches.
The tournament features 84 participants from 24 countries, with India's Nihal Sarin entering as the top seed. Azerbaijan’s Muradli is ranked 4th in the starting list.
