Azerbaijani chess player Vugar Rasulov has taken fourth place at Karshi Chess Open 2025 in Uzbekistan.
Rasulov drew with Kazakhstan’s Azamat Utegaliyev in the 9th and final round, Idman.biz reports.
He finished the tournament with 6.5 points. Although he had the same number of points as the silver and bronze medalists, he was ranked fourth based on tiebreak criteria.
Rasulov was just half a point behind the tournament winner, Evgeny Alekseev of Israel.
For reference, the tournament featured 37 participants from 7 countries.
