Another Azerbaijani boxer has started the World Championship in Liverpool with a victory.
Saidjamshid Jafarov won his first fight, Idman.biz reports.
Competing in the 75 kg category, Jafarov defeated Gavin Rafferty (Ireland) in the round of 1/16. Winning all three rounds, Jafarov secured a 5:0 victory with scores of 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26.
He will face Daigo Sunaga (Japan), who was exempted from the first round, in his next match.
The fight will take place on September 9.
