Azerbaijani boxer Zaur Gahramanov started the World Championship in Liverpool with a victory.
The national athlete, competing in the 65 kg category, faced Denis Bril (Germany) in the round of 1/32, Idman.biz reports.
Finishing all three rounds in his favor, Gahramanov won with a final score of 4:1 (27:30, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27).
In the round of 1/16, he will fight Falcao Dos Reis (Brazil), who had a bye in the first stage.
The match is scheduled for September 7.
