Another boxer of Azerbaijan qualified at the 1st World Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
Idman.biz reports that Sarkhan Aliyev, who fought for a license in 71 kg weight, won his fight within the 1/32 final round.
The World Championship winner defeated Elabidine Amrouq Zine (Morocco). Aliyev made his victory official based on the results of 2 rounds. This was caused by an injury to his eyebrow. Since the fight was stopped, Sarkhan won with a score of 3:2 (20:18, 19:19*, 19*:19, 20:18, 18:20).
Our boxer will face Lithuanian Alexander Trofimchuk in the 1/16 finals. The meeting will take place on March 7.
Before Aliyev, Nijat Huseynov (51 kg), Umid Rustamov (57 kg), Tayfur Aliyev (63.5 kg) and Zeynab Rahimova (54 kg) also qualified.
