Nineteen-year-old Azerbaijani boxer Subhan Mammadov (48 kg) has won the gold medal at the World Boxing Championship held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to Idman.Biz, Mammadov defeated Russian representative Edmond Khudayan, who is of Armenian origin, in the final bout.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team competed at the championship with 11 boxers. Earlier, Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (+92 kg) claimed bronze medals at the tournament.
