The U-23 European Boxing Championship has kicked off in Budapest, Hungary.

Two Azerbaijani national team boxers won their matches on the first day.
Ali Abdullayev (65 kg) faced Milan Petriman (Hungary) in the round of 32. The bout ended with a 5–0 victory for Abdullayev (29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28). In his next match, Abdullayev will face Belge Kağan Kanlı (Turkey).
Nicat Alirzayev (70 kg) also advanced to the round of 16. He defeated Arturs Vaisla (Latvia) 5–0 (30:26, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 30:26) in the round of 32. Alirzayev will meet Camel Cemalı (France) in his next bout.
Ali Abdullayev will compete in his round of 16 bout today, while Nicat Alirzayev is scheduled to fight tomorrow.
The European Championship is scheduled to conclude on November 29.
