The semifinal bouts have kicked off at the U-19 European Boxing Championship held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
According to Idman.biz, two Azerbaijani boxers advanced to the finals on the first day of the stage.
Banuchichak Nasirli (48 kg) defeated Italy’s Amelia Sula in the semifinals with a convincing 5:0 victory (29:26, 29:27, 29:27, 30:25, 30:25). She will face France’s Mathilda Fragnieres in the final.
Bilalhabasi Nazarov (50 kg) took on Ionut Razvan Panaite (Romania), winning all three rounds and securing a 5:0 win (30:27, 30:26, 30:25, 30:25, 30:26). Nazarov will meet Italy’s Tommaso Orlando in the championship bout.
Another Azerbaijani boxer, Subhan Babayev (60 kg), faced Luka Chkhikvadze (Georgia). As his opponent advanced, Babayev settled for a bronze medal.
It is noted that two more Azerbaijani boxers will enter the ring today in the semifinals. The final matches will take place on October 10.
