The winners of the qualification round in the Baku leg of the Women’s 3x3 Basketball Series have been determined — with Italy and Egypt securing their spots in the main round.
Both national teams delivered strong performances to advance, Idman.biz reports.
Italy topped Group A with victories over Romania (21–14) and Madagascar (21–15). The Italian side will now compete in Group C of the main round, where they will face Thailand and Latvia.
Egypt also impressed in Group B, defeating Kazakhstan (22–9) and Roma (21–19). The North African team moves on to Group D, where they will go up against the Philippines and Austria.
Meanwhile, the Azerbaijan national team is set to compete in Group A of the main round alongside the Netherlands and team Prague.
