Sabah basketball club have strengthened their roster ahead of the new season with American centre Quincy Ballard.
According to İdman.Biz, the Baku club have signed the 213cm basketball player on a three-year contract.
Ballard was born in Syracuse, New York, and began his basketball career at Henninger High School. He later played for Quality Education Academy in North Carolina, where he averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks per game in his final season.
In 2020, Ballard began his NCAA career with the Florida State Seminoles. He made 36 appearances over two seasons. In his first campaign, Florida State reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
In 2022, the American joined the Wichita State Shockers, where his individual numbers began to improve significantly. In the 2023/24 season, Ballard averaged 7.4 points, six rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
The 2024/25 season was one of the most productive spells of his NCAA career. He averaged 10 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game, while shooting 75.1% from the field.
That season, Ballard led the American Athletic Conference in blocks and ranked second in rebounds. His 75.1% field-goal percentage was also the best single-season mark in Wichita State history.
Ballard spent the 2025/26 season with the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the SEC, regarded as one of the strongest conferences in the NCAA. The American played in all 32 of the team's games, starting 28 of them.
He averaged 6.5 points, six rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game during the season.
