These words were spoken by Azerbaijani national team basketball player Amil Hamzayev while discussing the first away game against North Macedonia in the qualifiers for the 2029 European Championship.
The experienced player noted that the team has no injuries: “Everyone participated in the last training session. North Macedonia is considered the favorite of the group. They are a more experienced team with strong players. However, we will take the court to win. We want to secure victory in this game and prepare for the next matches in high spirits,” he told AZERTAC.
Currently playing for “Neftchi,” Hamzayev also mentioned that other group opponents, Luxembourg and Ireland, are suitable for them: “Compared to North Macedonia, it will be easier to earn points against these teams.”
It should be noted that Azerbaijan will play its first qualifying match on November 27 away in North Macedonia, followed by the second game three days later in Baku against Luxembourg.
