Today, October 1, a Paris court will review the extradition request for 26-year-old Russian basketball player Daniil Kasatkin, who was detained in France in June on charges of cybercrime in the United States, Idman.biz reports.
According to the extradition warrant submitted to the U.S. and cited by the judge, Kasatkin faces up to five years in prison for computer fraud and up to 20 years for electronic fraud in America.
During a September 10 hearing, the investigating judge formally asked the athlete whether he agreed to extradition. Kasatkin refused, and the court will now decide on his transfer to U.S. authorities.
