President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order providing financial support to Sabah football club.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AZERTAC, 5 million manats will be allocated to the club from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan envisaged in the 2026 state budget.
The funding has been granted following the Azerbaijani champions' qualification for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
Under the presidential order, the Ministry of Finance has been instructed to provide the necessary funding, while the Cabinet of Ministers will resolve issues arising from the implementation of the order.
Sabah secured their place in the Champions League league phase after defeating Israel's Hapoel Beer-Sheva 6-4 on aggregate in the play-off round.
The achievement marked a historic milestone for the Baku club, who reached the main stage of Europe's premier club competition for the first time.
