It has emerged that Ukrainian club Polissya made a serious offer for Qarabag winger Oleksii Kashchuk at the beginning of this year.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the club had been working on signing the 26-year-old for several months.
According to Ukrainian journalist Mykhailo Spivakovskyi, Qarabag demanded €2 million (AZN 3.96 million) for Kashchuk's transfer. Polissya were ready to pay the full amount, and the two sides were close to reaching an agreement.
However, the transfer fell through because of Kashchuk's decision. The Ukrainian footballer did not want to return to his home country.
Spivakovskyi noted that Kashchuk was also of interest to Cypriot club Omonia and Croatian side Hajduk at the beginning of this year.
It should be noted that Oleksii Kashchuk's contract with Qarabag runs until the summer of 2027.
