Today, Azerbaijani athletes will compete in five disciplines at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Idman.Biz, swimmers Said Hamidov, Yegor Maynitskiy, Abdurrahman Rustamov, Ramil Velizade, Rashad Alquliyev, Fatima Alkaramova, Suleyman Ismayilzade, Oktay Huseynov, Vlastilina Khasyanova, Mehri Abdurahmanli, Anastasiya Boborikina, along with a mixed boys’ and girls’ team, will showcase their skills.
In men’s individual table tennis, Hilal Hesenov and Onur Quluzade will compete, while Merziya Nurmatova and Zemfira Mikayilova will represent Azerbaijan in the women’s event.
Weightlifter Rahile Huseynzade (86 kg) will participate in the final round.
Azerbaijani muaythai athletes will also begin their competitions, with Khayal Aliyev (60-65 kg) and Salahaddin Gocazade (65-70 kg) fighting for the title.
Karatekas Roman Heydarov, Turgut Hesenov, and Fatima Jabrayilova will display their skills in their respective events.
The Islamic Solidarity Games will conclude on November 21. So far, Azerbaijani athletes have won 29 medals (4 gold, 9 silver, 16 bronze), ranking sixth in the overall medal table.
